Don Pablo, Cinquera

Had an interview with this wonderful, warm and intelligent man. He acted as a messenger, deliverer of papers, and community organiser during the war. He lost 7 family members and now feels it is his duty to greet visitors to his small village which saw so much massacre and share his difficult testimony. He understands that education is the way forward and this community is actively involved in empowering it’s youth with local jobs working in the nearby eco-reserve and by sending them to University through grants and scholarships donated by mostly NGOs.
My visit with him was really emotional and valuable and really helped me to understand the history this country on a more personal level.
